Happy Thanksgiving Week!
Happy Thanksgiving Week!
Speaking, writing and ministry friends, we are so thankful for you–fellow sojourners with Jesus and our Next Step Community–and for the joy of coaching you.
Can we ask you to do something this week? Enjoy yourself right where you are.
Maybe you have a houseful of guests, maybe you’re alone, or maybe you’re somewhere in between. Whatever this holiday season looks like, we encourage you to be present, focus on those you love, look in their eyes, and don’t worry about your ministry “to-do” list. God is giving you this time to love those around you. And if you are not surrounded by friends and family, enjoy the alone time, have a mini-retreat with the Lord, or reach out to give to someone else.
Let’s enjoy the heart of this season by turning with thankfulness for some of our favorite things right now.
Melanie’s Top 10 Thankful List
Snuggling in cozy blankets
God’s glory displayed in His creation of changing leaf colors; brilliant, blue skies; and cold, crisp temperatures
A husband and sons who love me unconditionally
That God loves a work in progress
First thing in morning coffee. Black. Any. Kind.
Bonfires
Laughing hard with friends
Opportunity to use my gifts
New TV shows
Books, books, books

Cooler weather (a break from NC summer!)
My inspiring coaching clients
My favorite guys– 1 husband and 2 sons
Windows in my office to watch the world go by
Candle light and cozy fires
The steely gray of a winter ocean
My brother’s wise cracks and the laughter of family
Friends that get me (and love me anyway)
The pleasure of Kingdom building alongside Jesus
Spiritual freedom and living in a country that’s free
Maybe you want to write your own “Top 10” list!
We’ll end with a few verses to meditate on with thankfulness during the holiday season.
Colossians 3: 15, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
Psalm 100: 4, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”
What’s on your thankful list? We’d love to hear from you in the comments!
